BREA DENTIST RECEIVES PRESTIGIOUS MASTERSHIP FROM ACADEMY OF GENERAL DENTISTRY


The Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) is pleased to announce that J. Dennis Lewis, DDS, Fullerton, Calif., received the prestigious Mastership Award during the AGD's largest Convocation ceremony, a commencement celebration that recognizes AGD members’ commitment to excellence in dental education.  Held at the AGD's Annual Meeting and Exhibits on June 30 in San Diego, Dr. Lewis accepted this award along with more than 157 other recipients.
The Mastership Award is the highest honor available in the AGD and one of the most respected designations in the profession.  This accomplishment meets the highest criteria for professional excellence.  To accomplish this, Dr. Lewis completed 1,100 hours of continuing dental education in the 16 disciplines of dentistry, including 400 hours dedicated to the hands-on skills and techniques.  As a recipient of this award, Dr. Lewis has joined over 2,200 members of the dental community who understand that great smiles and good oral health for their patients are the result of going above and beyond basic requirements.
"This is an outstanding accomplishment for Dr. Lewis," says AGD Presidents Vincent Mayher, DMD, MAGD.  "By completing the rigorous requirements to become a Master, Dr. Lewis goes above and beyond basic licensure requirements in his state to keep his practice on the cutting edge.  He takes extra dental education to provide his patients with the very best in dental care.  This award truly distinguishes Dr. Lewis from others in the dental community."
Dr. Lewis graduated from Loyola University Schools of Dentistry in 1977 and currently practices dentistry in Brea, Calif.  In addition to the AGD, Dr. Lewis is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, Orange County Dental Association, Western Society of Periodontology and the International Association of Orthodontics.
Dr. Lewis is married to Carolyn and has three children, Matthew, Janelle and Christa.
